HI!,
For some reason my Windows Meidia Player toolbar does not work! I right click on the blue bar down on the bottom of the screen , then click on toolbars and then on windows media player. The toolbar is checked as on but when i minimize the media player it does not transform into the toolbar with play, next and so on buttons.

I have no idea what is going on
Can some one help me????

Hi there,

If you are using WMP10, and I am understanding you correctly, then you want WMP to be in Compact Mode, with the buttons for controlling the playing tracks. At the bottom right corner of WMP while it is in Full mode, there is a small circular button with an arrow in it that reads upon hover "Switch to Skin Mode".

Click that button, WMP shrinks to Skin mode, and on the immediate Left of the same button, is another button shaped as a box, that reads "Compact" upon hover. If you click this, the player shrinks even smaller with all the playback buttons.

If I have misunderstood you, please clarify your needs.

Hope this helps,

For little glitches like that in WMP, MS will tell you, as a last resort, to do an over-the-top reinstall of WMP.
Try this first.
Click Start>Run.
Type "regsvr32 wmp.dll" (no quotes) and hit your enter key
You should get the message "DllRegisterServer in wmp.dll succeeded."
Reboot and see if it fixed it. It's sort of a mini repair of WMP, for lack of a better term.

When I minimize WMP11, and have that option selected in Taskbar/Toolbars, mine minimizes to the Taskbar just fine. Of course, I have NO audio. I've tried about everything; any ideas?

Sounds as if we could put our two players together, we "might" come up with one good one. After a nap I'm going to uninstall it and start over. Ugh.

i know its been a while for this post but i thought of giving it a try:

I have the same problem and i tried the solution posted by hitsquad. wmp11 goes back to toolbar mode when i minimize it(after i do regsvr32 wmp.dll) but after i restart wmp11 doesnt go back to toolbar by itself i have to run the command again to do so.
