When I start playing a game through steam, usually being a source game, like couter strike:source, half-life 2, and even some mods for hl2, the game will crash in the middle of it and go back to windows wihtout any error messages and seems like nothing happened. I have tried updating my video and sound cards and cant seem to figure out what the problem is. I need some help with this please!

Have you been able to play them on your computer before?

What are your system specs?

Check for patches to Steam and for the games that you're playing.

Have you checked the Event Viewer for error messages? How-To at: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html
