Wmv9 And Wmv3 For Linux?

Forum Addict Group: Members Posts: 1,121 Joined: 19-February 05 From: NCSU Member No.: 12,503	I'm trying to compile VLC (or any media player) to be able to play WMV9 and WMV3 files. I realize that linux wasn't "made" to be compatible with these files, but i've seen many cracks along the way. Unfortunately, I've tried almost every site on the internet i can find on the subject, but none of them have properly worked. So, has anyone gotten a media player to play WMV3 or WMV9 media files? I can get the sound from the files, but the video codecs still alude me...... Thanx in advance.

Sometimes glitches on .asf files. Make sure you get the "essential" codecs and install them first before you compile mplayer. -------------------- HOSTFix

I tried make and ./configure but neither work. I got that info from "tuxfiles.com"
