Hey Everyone,

Back when I was using WinXP I was able to load up an application like a full screen video game and have the sounds play through my speakers. When I tossed in my USB headset to speak on Teamspeak or Vent etc, the sound from the game would still go through the speakers, while only the new application (Teamspeak/Vent) would play through my USB Headset/Mic.

I have been on Win7 now for sometime, and just recently have the need for this again, but I cannot seem to figure it out. I need to be able to A) turn on game with sounds going to speakers, then B) at any time when I want to plug in the headset, I do not want the sound to be forced over to my headset and only have the Vent/Teamspeak come through the headphones/mic.

I don't know if this is no longer possible in Win7, if there is an order to do this, or if I need to always have headset plugged in and set it to secondary or something. I'm lost, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Grym

So you want voice for Vent and audio for the computer speakers?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I basically just want to be able to hear the voice from Vent and be able to talk on vent with only the headphones/mic.

Everything else, I want to go through the speakers.

You can separate them in the following fashion:

Speak through Mic and hear it over the speakers

But you cannot have dual play back devices for bother audio and voice.

Only one play back and Record device can be active at any given time.
