BleepingComputer.com: Purchase Template: Buying a new laptop for gaming and college

Hey guys,

So I'm getting a new laptop but I'm not quite sure what I should be looking at.

My budget is about $1000-$2000 bucks.
I'm hoping to use it for a lot of gaming but it of course needs to be able to support general programs.
I'm hoping to run Starcraft II at full graphics. Skyrim and other games etc. I'm hoping this to be able to run games incoming for the next couple of years.
As I said before. Starcraft II, other newish games.
I don't mind closing other programs but I am looking for 4core.
I don't store a massive amount of information but a decent sized HDD would be nice.

For that budget, you could get this monster, it's heavy but it will play your games and possibly play the upcoming games for the next few years.

@killerx, this configuration is pretty strong, but to me it sounds more like this image (if you know what I mean).

I see that you are looking for a laptop for college and gaming - the perfect solution in this case would be a 15.6 inch laptop, because its size is great for both gaming and carrying around (at school in your case).

For your budget, your selection is huge, and it is really hard to give you an advice about a specific brand and model, since every laptop that costs around $1500 would fit your needs. Everyone can tell you a different thing. Give us more details

Even the 15.6 inch models are still pretty heavy but the overall size of the laptop is smaller.

I do believe most people prefer that size as i think it is the "sweet spot".
