DO you have a program I could download, then post to the
forum for examination? PLEASE TRY TO KEEP A PROGRAM d/LOAD
At a fairly low size as my dialup speed can be as low
as a terrible 33mbs. I have malwarebytes..pc is clean.
connect speed takes forever..online connect just as bad

Please do not use Bold for all of the post, this will seem like you demand an answer - This is only to highlight items -

Is there a Yellow mark beside this in Device Manager ??Control Panel >System>Hardware>DeviceManager -

The SM bus controller is your Chipset Driver.
Go to www.support.dell > Drivers and Downloads > Enter your Service tag #.
Find the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility, download and install it.

Now your Device Manager should show no Yellow !. and you should be good to go.

Not sure how long Dell takes to Respond / Load, but this is the easiest way I know -

Apologies for the bold type...this type just looked so weak.

did that chipset driver download....nothing changed...driver still shows as not installed...I let dell put it in
C:/drivers...(might have that written wrong).
any other suggestions?

Go Start/Run...type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

List what is reflected for all items with either a yellow or red marking, please.

I'm not sure that worked...I just redid the run/start devmgmt.msc again and the driver still shows as unavailible.
It had me remove a global whatever first before installing the driver. Sure would enjoy when this mess is fixed and thanks for your time helping.
Maybe when I reboot the driver will install?

That didnt work..it's the same no driver episode as before.

I just got off a longgggggggggg chat session with people pc...think my grandaughter is more informed....
and i just dowloaded microsoft security client....gonna reboot and see if it took..will probably have to redo those driver d/loads too..one thing at a time, I guess
