Last night while just browsing around sites my keyboard and touchpad simply stopped working (mind you, these are sites I frequent and shouldn't be dangerous), And now I'm stuck using a Usb keyboard/Mouse.

I checked the device manager, and there's a yellow exclamation point next to the keyboard. So I did some basic troubleshooting like disabling/enabling the keyboard, updating, and reinstalling the keyboard drivers. So far, nothing has worked.

However, I have found that my function keys still work correctly. People have suggested using functions like Fn+7 and such, but those have done nothing so far.

And if it helps, I'm using a Toshiba laptop with a synaptics touchpad.

EDIT: I've also checked for viruses by first running a quick scan on Malwarebytes, then a full scan.

Have you succesfully reinstalled the driver if any for the touchpad without errors from the manufacturing support site?

That's the only source :) with the exception of course of websites who maintain drivers on outdated computers or not supported anymore of the manufacturing site. Drivermax is one I know for instance.

Alright, so I uninstalled my touchpad driver and installed the one from the site, however I still am unable to use the keyboard and it still has a yellow exclamation point next to it in the device manager.

Here's a screenshot I took with the error. In case it's too blurry, it says "Your device cannot start (code 10)". And on the right, the touchpad should be showing up in the properties there.

That is very unusual, given that is the correct driver. Did you download the exe file and the install or use the online install(silent installation)? I don't know if the sites on your post could have cost your driver or touchpad just suddenly not working unless its a hardware problem or an infection could have done this.

I used the exe file, not the silent installation.

I've solved the problem!

So last night, before going to bed, I ended up restoring the laptop to factory default settings to see if that'd fix it. However, It did nothing, so I knew that the drivers shouldn't have been the problem. I ended up fixing it by turning it off, taking the battery out, holding the power button for 30 seconds, putting the battery back in, and turning it back on. Voila! Works like new again.

Jhayz, I'd really like to thank you for your assistance throughout this whole ordeal. Much appreciated!
