BleepingComputer.com: unsuccessful attempt to install photo software

Hello,
trying to install Nikon camera D3100 software.
Put the CD in and nothing comes up, no install wizard.
The PDF for the manual comes up.
Tried going in and removing some old camera software.
Also tried "add program".
Nothing seems to be working and it seems like such a simple thing.
Thanks for any help and for not laughing at me.

We here at bleeping computer do not have a sense of humor we are aware of. Have you tried going into my computer and right clicking on your cd rom drive, and selecting auto play?
