Beginner PC Build

Hi guys,
I am planning on building my first PC and i am looking for some advice and your opinions on the parts that i have picked out so far. As of right now i have a 1Tb sea-gate hard drive(only about a year old) that i plan on using. with the parts that i have pick out i am at about $700 and don't want to go to much higher so that i can still afford a monitor. Please be completely honest about these parts so that i can make a quality computer.

and as far as an Optical drive, I'm not to concerned about that and picking one out shouldn't be that hard.

Good build, but I would recommend and Antec 900 or Antec 1200 case over the smaller Antec 300, and I would recommend a Corsair PSU the 650CMPU-TX.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

i was wondering your thoughts on the video card. i have had someone mention the 560 or the 6850/6870 over the 460 that i have selected.

It all depends on your budget and what you can afford now.

You're also going to need more components to complete the system, the OS, optical drive, and hard drive. You may be able to save some cash going with an AMD CPU and motherboard.

Suggested CPU's:

AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz - This isn't quite as powerful as a 2500. $149
AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz - About as powerful as a 2500. $199
AMD Phenom II X4 960T Zosma 3.0GHz - A good budget CPU for gaming. $124

Suggested motherboards:

GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AM3+ AMD 970 - A solid motherboard for people who don't use SLI or Crossfire. $89
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX - An enthusiast motherboard that is geared for gamers. $184

As for the 6850 and 6870, it does depend what you do. If you are gaming, the 6870 is a great choice. If you aren't gaming, or playing basic Flash games, consider an APU-based system.
