And ask why Seatools isn't working and bring up the Ashampoo results and you concerns about the temperatures.
Since losing things worries you a dual pronged approach would be best,
1. A Backup external drive with mirrored drives to have them available easily.
2. Backup files to a Burner onto good quality blank media. I am now using Verbatim BluRay 25Gb blanks with a Pioneer BluRay burner.
The main reason why the above is better is that a virus can damage files on a attached drive or you do an oops to it. Includes knocking it over when it is running. A burned disc can't become damaged by a virus or accidental deletion. Poor quality media can deteriorate. I have some cheap CDs I burner that are unreadable. Lesson learned I now use a good brand.

I avoid the LTH and stick to the HTL media BTW.
The reason I suggested BluRay was it uses less shelf space.
