An invalid reinstall

I aborted the install. I hit the off button on the power strip - oops!
So, I decide to live with the BS I have rather than have to load all my apps back. I did the ERDNT which fixed most of the original problems.
Now, when I boot I get a choice of XP Pro or Windows Default. If I let it decide for itself I go to the reinstall which is a bad thing.
How do I get rid of that option? Is there a registry value I need to change? Am I an idiot for aborting the install?
It's not really so bad, but I have to watch when I boot and choose.

And I shall tell if it works.
It's a hassle, not a threat, I just have to sit here when I boot to push the right button.
I bet you a dollar and a doughnut there's a registry value I can change that will stop this. But I don't know what it would be.

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=10
Default=C:\$WIN_NT$,~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT
[Operating Sysems]
multi(0)disk(0(disk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional"/noexecute=optin/fastdetect
The third line is new if my memory is right.
I shall delete it and see what happens.

One is the one I want and the other I'd like to get rid of, but I can live with it.
I think my only option is a re-install.
I appreciate the help, Thank you.
(this problem is on my stand-by computer - not my main beast, so I'm not really worried, just curious as to why)
The more I'm here, the more I learn and the more I learn, the more I'm here.

Select the Advanced Tab
Then towards the bottom look for "Startup & Recovery"
In that se3ction of Advanced Click on the Settings button
Then Under "Default Operating System"
click the little down pointing arrow and select
Quote
Test. If that brings up the desired windows you can then set the
"Time to display list of operating systems:" to zero (0) Only after testing.
Good Luck

I reintalled and got locked into a reboot loop after the reinstall was almost finished. WTF?
Fustrating, but I did something right and I am now using Win XP Pro in a pristine condition and All Is Right, so far.
Maybe my HD is going south, but all the tests tell me it's good to go.
I Thank You for all the help.
I have a problem with my 'A' drive, but that's a different post.
