it has a USB & Lan port, however my flash drive will not work and cannot find a drive for win95 only win 98

It has a floppy drive however no other comps i have have one and i dont have a portable one.

Is there a way to transfer without buying a floppy drive for one of the other computers??

Is the Windows 7 machine a desktop or a lap top?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

So you have a Win95 and Win98 computers then?

I think it will depend on which Win95 you have, right-click on My Computer and select Properties. I think only Win95 C can support USB devices. Win98SE should but you do need additional drivers installed so it can read the USB stick there are normally downloaded from the manufacturers web site.

Win7 should reconginise a USB Flash Drive straight off.

Well drivers for USB flash drives for Win95 are like hens teeth.

Have you Googled this?

What Microsoft has to say about USB Support in Win95

There are Windows 98SE USB Mass Storage Device Drivers for Win98 but I can never get these to work.

I've had this link for a long time but it doesn't appear to work at the moment USB Flash Driver for Windows 95 (OSR 2.1)

I would get this Vantec 2.5"/3.5"/5.25" SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2 and that will allow you to transfer the files from your lap top drive to your Windows 7 Desktop with ease.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I believe that the HDD in the Win95 laptop is removable (it just slides out the front of the laptop along with the cdrom and floppy disk) would it be an option to get a cable to go from the HDD to usb on the win 7 machine?

You can just set up a VPN connection using team viewer and transfer the files over :)

Or use a Dropbox account or a Windows Live Drive account.

Dropbox may not be able to be installed on a 95, and windows live, he would need to upload and then download to the new pc.
With teamviewer, its more of a drag and drop.

Both can be used through a browser.

Would it not be more simple to just share the drive over the network on the 95 machine? Assuming the 95 machine has an Ethernet card of course.
