We have seen this error iertutil.dll rear its head on 6 occassions over the last 2 weeks

Simply pull the hard drive & drop a copy of the .dll (from another xp machine)into Windows/system/system32 (that is where you will find it on another PC)

It appears to happen when the internet explorer 7 to 8 update goes bad. (Sorry Crashoveride420, missed the important bit)

Cheers

Sorry that i missed that....it was a late night. From what i can tell you have already replaced the .dll file and now all you are getting is an error, you click ok and keep on working. If that is the case then we will need to find the cause for the error and shut it down. If you could be so kind as to post the error here so we can take a look at we can get this fixed ASAP. THanks

Phew , this has almost turned out bigger than Ben Hur.

I have sorted all the different peoples XP PC's that I have seen with this error, by manually dropping in the missing .dll after the hard drive has been pulled.
Upon the "fix" on reboot it usually indicates that Internet Explorer 8 is now installing. Then it kicks into gear and all is well again.

Cheers
