computer wont start right

when i start up my computer a black screen comes up and says detecting array, press f10 to enter raid utility, then goes blank then days disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter. is there anyway to get this back to starting up normal? if i press f10 it talkes me to a blue screen that says define a new array with certain options to do. if i try to start it up and press del when the velocity micro logo comes on it takes me to a different screen that says Phoenix - AwardBIOS CMOS setup utility and gives different options. What to do?

Have you tried going to BIOS setup utility setting into default and or disabling RAID and reinserting CMOS battery or mobo jumper?

tried to default nothing happened. havent tried to disable raid or reinsert cmos, not sure what that is or means.

Well...first question is do you employ a RAID configuration?

Number 2...system manufacturer and model?

If you employ a RAID setup...it seems to me that you either have a dead/dying hard drive (taking the message literally)...or you have a problem with your RAID.

If you don't employ a RAiD, my guess would be that your CMOS battery is dying. Such can result in unusual error messages that have no validity.

I'm moving your topic to Internal Hardware (which might be called "Infernal Hardware") so others can take a go at this.

right before it happened, everytime i would start the computer it would go to a screen that told me to push one of the function keys to bypass that screen or push another one of the function keys to go to setups. so i figured i would go to the setup to try and fix the problem, then thats when this other bs started happening.

to answer louis' ? - im not sure if i employ a raid config. not sure what that is or how to find out. thanks tho

That definitely sounds like a dying CMOS battery.

Open the case and look for a part about the size and color of a U.S. nickle.

It will have a code on the top like '2032'. Buy the same type of battery and replace it.

Be sure to keep your arm touching the case of the PC as you work on it.

If it looks like I know what I'm doing, there's a pretty good chance the only reason for that is because
I once asked someone to run chkdsk /r and a BC Advisor smacked me in the back of the head.
