Whenever I add the Yahoo Toolbar to IE9, close the program and re-open it, the toolbar is gone. What can I do to prevent this? I also use the Google Toolbar with no problem. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 with 4gb RAM.

Hi Louis.

I used the website you suggested and the Yahoo toolbar still disappeared after closing then re-opening IE9 again. The Google toolbar remained intact.

Did you checked your Yahoo toolbar is enabled by Manage Addons in Tools menu - Manage Addons?

Hi Louis,

Clicked on Tools > Manage add-ons and across from 'Toolbars and Extensions' (Show: All add-ons), Yahoo toolbar does not exist. Yahoo appears twice across from 'Search Providers'. One of them is Not Available and the other is Enabled. Yahoo toolbar does, however, show up under Programs and Features.

To anyone who may be interested,

I discovered that the Yahoo toolbar has difficulties operating with IE9 in 64-bit mode. I changed to 32-bit and now it works fine.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

Problem solved.
