I have recently completed the removal of the Vista virus from my laptop. It appears to have been successful, however, I have lost all of my photos. Are they recoverable?

Please...provide some details.

What makes you think that you have "lost" them...does that mean that the files don't exist on your system any more?

What other apparent system anomalies...have you noticed?

System manufacturer and model?

Exactly what steps did you take...to remove malware?

Hi. Thanks for responding.
I followed the process for removal of the Vista virus as was detailed on bleepingcomputer.com with fixNCR.reg
All of my favorites, quick links and screen savers have been lost.
I breifly saw them when I looked into Microsoft Window gallery. Less than 30 seconds later they vaporized from view. All previous photo locations report show that they are empty.
All photos that had been stored on my C: drive. My back up drive that was connected during the virus removal has been wiped clean.
I am using a HP Pavilion dv6700.
My itunes is still intact.

Please advise.
Thank you
John

Hello again,
I am hoping that the photos are recoverable. Is there anything I can do to recover them?
Thank you
John
