Hi

Do you mean the Windows 7 starting screen where it says "Starting Windows" or a different screen?

James

Ok, I decided to switch SATA cables between hard drives, and guess what it worked! but it came up with something saying I had to restart for something, it had the 'ready to use' window, but I think that was for my mouse and keyboard... after restarting it took 7 minutes again too boot, so Ive narrowed it down to either the SATA cable (which I dont think it is) or Windows, I cant see it being a hardware problem, unless its to do with my motherboard. Also when I try to switch SATA cables now, it says unable to bootmsg or something, press CTRL+ALT+DEL

Hi

Sounds like it MIGHT be the Windows 7 AHCI drivers.

If you don't know how to check the AHCI options in BIOS, I need to know what is the manufacturer/model of the motherboard?

James

Ive just checked the motherboard, has a few numbers on it:

H57H-AM2
MBU5C0700DA9100
EA=4487FCDDA43D

I think its a Mini ATX motherboard.
hope this helps.

If you haven't done this, it is probably the solution.

Go to the official site for driver support.

http://www.packardbell.co.uk/pb/en/GB/content/download

Select DESKTOP
Select iPOWER

Determine which of the three part families that your PC belongs to (it should be on a label on the PC or in the documentation that came with it)

PT.U51-PV.U51
PT.U5B-PV.U5B
PT.U5E-PV.U5E

Then select that and you will be able to download the drivers that you need for your PC
Particularly, the chipset and SATA drivers.

If you've already been here to get these, let us know.

Hope this helps
James
