My Ram and Motherboard I need help choosing my ram for my mother board

Hey guys im new to the computer stuff but i've always wanted to get some new ram but anyway so my Motherboard is in the Asus p5 series (old) and i only have 2 Gig ram and now i want to upgrade it but i dont know what type ram it needs DDR3 OR DDR2 need help also i have a intel duo core that runs at 2.20 GHz does that mean cause its a duo does that mean it runs at 4.4 GHz also is it good for most games?

Go to www.crucial.com and use their RAM configurator to determine what RAM you need as dictated by either the system or the motherboard.
