Switching hard drives

I took a hard drive from a Hewlett Packard Media-Center PC, Model #m7640n, which had several non-hard drive issues like a dead power supply and placed it in a Dell Dimension 4700 replacing its drive. Now I have a Dell Pc with a HP hard drive and HP monitor,mouse,and keyboard. All other Dell parts and software were discarded by the previous owner. Both were running Windows XP. I had to revalidate Windows XP with Microsoft. Now I am having some driver issues. How do I get the HP hard drive to update the drivers for the Dell Pc or visa versa? I don't have any driver disks for the HP either.

You need to go into the add/remove programs and remove any HP drivers, then go onto dells website and find the drivers specific for your model computer, and download and install them. The hard drive in and of itself makes no real difference, a hard drive is a hard drive, the only thing that makes a difference is the software installed on it, once you remove any HP drivers and install the dell drivers located here you should be good to go.

Media Center: Motherboard: Gigabyte mp61p-S3, Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+, Memory: 6 gigs Patriot DDR2 800, Video: Saphire 4850, Storage: 500 gig Hitachi, PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550 watt modular PSU, OS: Windows 7 Ultimate.

Thanks, I did that and solved most of the problems except can't find a driver for the multi media audio controller. Am going to google "computer drivers" and see if I can download an audio driver that will give me sound. Thanks again.
