For cleaning out the usual OEM Bloatware take a look at the aptly named PC Decrapifier.
Make sure you verify what it is that the tool suggests to remove before committing to removal. Once it's gone it's gone.
I'm sure others will have their suggestions for what to clean up as well.

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

Why is the word abbreviation so long?

Have a look at what is running at startup by using msconfig. I only have firewall & a/v running at startup. Guide to msconfig for Windows 7 here: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html
