Yes, Dell data safe restored it to factory settings.

After restoring to factory default I really don't know what is on your system. It is not the same system we restore from boot. Everything is changed after factory restore.

Let see what you have on your system.

Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from the following links. Save it to your desktop.

  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run. When done it will open two logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt

  • Copy and paste the logs to your reply.

FYI: I will the log over tomorrow. Please ask any question you might have. I think we are done.:)

Having issues with what you asked me to do, keep getting errors. Anyway, I pretty much have everything back to normal except for 3 things. How do I restore my favorite websites, e-mail contacts and old e-mails that were in my Windows Live mail? For example.....When I go to start, search, and type favorites, I can see the file folder with all of them listed. How do I get them back into IE? I can't find anything thru the search for my e-mail contacts or old e-mails. Would that be something my internet service provider can help with?

I don't know how to restore old e-mails and e-mail contacts.

About favorites, if you find them by using search you can either open them one by one and add them to your favorites or right-click one of them, select Properties and tell me what you find. Then I can help you copy them to the current favorite directory.
