BleepingComputer.com: afd.sys file missing after removal of Trojan Dropper

My cousin asked me to look at her Windows 7, Toshiba Laptop as it had started BSOD after about 2 minutes of start up. This had started after her son had loaded something called FrostWire 5.1.5. I originally thought it was a driver issue, but figured I'd run a virus scan to be sure there wasn't anything else funky going on. Virus scanning crashed the system, so I started to become suspicious. I pulled up a web browser to go to Microsoft's web page to do a Windows Update and the browser was hijacked and BSOD'd. I booted into safe mode and found three systsem restores, so I tried each and every one of them. They all failed with incomplete status. Next I and was able to download Microsft Malicious SW Removal Tool, ran it and it found one infected file. The virus was Rogue:Win32/FakeVimes. I saw where it was suggested to download nad run TDSSKILLER, which I did and it found Trojan Dropper:Win32/Sirefef.B. I had it remove the trojan, and am able to boot without the BSOD, but now we do not have internet access. I downloaded and ran FSS and the log indicates that afd.sys is missing. I can find several versions of the file on disk, but I would really like some assistance from the pro's before I proceed. I'm fairly comfortable with Windows XP, but this is Windows 7 and I don't really have much experiance with it. Please let me know what you need to see to provide assistance.

Files are fine but you have several registry keys missing.

Following steps involve registry editing. Please create new restore point before proceeding!!!

Download Vista.zip file from here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/files/download/9-registry-network-keys/
Unzip the file.
You'll find several files inside.
Double click on afd.reg file and confirm the prompt.
Double click on mpssvc.reg file and confirm the prompt.
Double click on bfe.reg file and confirm the prompt.
Double click on wscsvc.reg file and confirm the prompt.

Restart computer, check on internet connection and post new FSS log.

Will the Vista.Zip files work on Windows 7?

It would but download Seven.zip instead.
