BleepingComputer.com: Tool Bar Problem

Hi!

I can't uninstall inbox.com as a toolbar from my friend Hp laptop running Windows 7-I've tried everything I know how to; I found that many people on the Web are having this problem and all the solutions dont work. The computer was running IE9 so I removed it and replaced it with an earlier version of Internet Explorer. Problem still not solved. Even though I removed it using Revo it still reappears. Lokks like Malware????

Hi Louis

Thank you so much for your timely reply. Unfortunately I have tried that method and it does not work. As soon as you uninstall the software it appears to be gone - and then when you launch the browser its search page is back again and and so is the toolbar. You can't even add a new start page it will always default to the toolbar start page. I have searched the web for a solution and many people have the same problem. They have tried many methods with no success. Here was the only solution which I am reluctant to try from answers.microsoft.com

Hi, I am having problems removing the remnants of Inbox.com off my pc, I thought i had uninstalled it but there are still some parts left mainly in my games on facebook, I didnt knowingly download this rubbish now i cant det rid of it, I have done the add ons thing you advised but its still here I feel as if im being stalked.

PA Bear is highly esteemed by me...he knows much more than I could ever hope to learn about computer situations.

I would follow any suggestions that he might make about this computer issue.

During my searches, I came across nothing that referred to this particular toolbar as malware. Since toolbars are just part of the Internet landscape, I provided the standard recipe for removing it.

Once again thank you Louis I appreaciated your input. I was trying avoid reformatting and reinstalling because it's not my computer but my friends. Your observation about "Pa Bear" as you call him ( had a chuckle over that) is probably right. I have the weekend to think about it maybe a better answer will emerge.
