In Demystifying the Windows Registry in the section Structure of the Registry:
"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT (HKCR) -
This Hive contains the information for that pertains to the core user interface such as file associations and shortcuts."

The part I've underlined is missing an object (noun phrase), such as "all users", "the current user", 'the machine", etc., or one of the two words (for that) is extraneous.

I thought I should also point out that Windows Vista & 7 haven't been incorporated into the description of how to backup the registry.

I hope that helps!

I've fixed the typo.

As far as the missing information goes, methods for backing up the Vista/7 Registries are available elsewhere on the site (in several places). One only needs to do a quick search. At some point we may update the tutorial to contain this information but for the time being there are alternative sources here at BC.
