So here's my situation; where I live, I use Satellite internet from DirectTV (I think, it's my Dad's); my desktop computer and laptop are both about equidistant from the wireless router, but the desktop loses connection constantly, the speeds are noticeably slower, and it makes online gaming almost impossible with lag. The laptop has none of these issues, but isn't built for gaming.

Is there any reason (spacially speaking) why a distance difference of about two feet would affect signal strength like that?

As well as this issue with my desktop, I constantly get the "skipping error" where mouse/keyboard input, audio and video will freeze every few seconds like a skipping CD. It eventually goes away, but is incredibly frustrating.

I've included the HiJack This info, as going for help is my last resort. I've virus-scanned, malware-scanned, uninstalled/reinstalled my wireless card, updated drivers, basically done everything I know save a full OS reformat. Help, please!

Hello, I have removed your HJT log as this issue is not caused by malware. I will move this topic back to the Windows 7 forum so someone there can have a look at your problem.
regards, Elise
