hi all-

fantastic forum as i've learned a lot from other threads but i am having some difficulty with my family members PC running Windows XP. He opened a malicious attachment and now has the System Check malware installed as well as others I'm sure. The version of AVG he had installed did not detect/removal properly and other tools are not responding well. Would love some help from an expert in determining if we'll be able to successfully remove.

thank you!

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then post them in a reply to this topic by using the Add Reply button.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the post and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the reply and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Please note that I am not a member of the Malware Removal Team and will not be assisting you in removing the infection. I'm simply helping you to post the information they need in order to assist you.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

hi-

thank you for the link to the prep guide. i was unfortunately unable to capture any of the required data. i've got that particular system disconnected from the Internet so it doesn't reach out to download additional malware. i've loaded the tools to a flash drive but the malware has me locked out from certain things that are hiding my ability to get to the flash drive to run the programs. when i try to, it simply hangs the machine up.

thanks
