Is Startup Rundll32 P17 Necessary?

New Member Group: Members Posts: 8 Joined: 12-February 06 Member No.: 54,791	I am trying to speed up my computer by disabling unnecessary start-up items by going to; start > run > msconfig > ok > Startup and unchecking ones I do not need. Rundll32 P17 is one when searched gives only the information below. Does anyone know if this should be disabled or not? Thank you for your time. Name: P17Helper Filename: Rundll32 P17.dll, P17Helper Command: Unknown at this time. Description: ASIO driver for the Sound Blaster Audigy & Audigy 2 series sound card - is it required in startup? File Location: Unknown Startup Type: Currently being identified.

New Member Group: Members Posts: 11 Joined: 15-December 05 Member No.: 44,954	Hi Audio nut, the easy answer to your question is that it is your ASIO driver for the Sound Blaster Audigy & Audigy 2 series sound card so if you don't require the helper /audio at start up un tick it reboot and go play an audio file if it works then you don't need it at start up as it kicks in itself when requested. If you get nothing then just go back to startup and put that nice little tick back in the box.
