I hope this is the correct section for this question.
I have about 2000 color (mostly Kodachrome) slides that I am transferring to CD so as to extend their life.
I'm using an Epson V330 slide scanner to do the transfer.
I have a fairly new Sony LCD Digital TV a Sony CD/DVD player.
Do I need to transfer the slides to DVD or DVD-R to display them on the TV?
Any help appreciated.

I have used both for my jpegs, with my LCD TV, (Rs not RWs), with ancient CD/DVD player attached.
I prefer DVDs, only for the larger capacity and the lifespan is longer, so they say.
(I'll have to check in 25-30 years time).

No you do not need to transfer them to a DVD to view them on to a tv.
Most new dvd players can read the jpegs and display them by folder/date/ and you use the "next chapter" button on the remote to change pictures.

Nero and most other DVD burning software will make "photo dvd's" that should play on a normal dvd player.
