BleepingComputer.com: Discovering Items, Extremely Slow Transfer Speed (flash drive)

Started a few months ago, anytime I try putting files on a flash drive (i tried 4 different ones, works on other computers) it first says "Discovering items, Calculating" then starts transferring at only around 1-3 MBPS. It used to transfer at around 25MBPS! Then when I cancel it, it doesn't cancel, and I have to end process and that crashes windows explorer and I have to run a new task for explorer.exe

This only happens with flash drives, not external USB harddrives, or moving files on the same HDD. But transferring from flash to HDD is normal 25MPS speed. WTF?

-Tried difference flash drives
-Different USB ports


System: Windows 7 64bit, Intel Q8300 2.5Ghz, GTS 250 1GB, 6.5GB ram, 750GB HDD.

I would start by running windows error checking tool for each flash drive. Make sure you have a back-up copy off all files on each flash drive. You could try formatting the USB flash drives as another option.

Is there a speed transfer difference on transferring small files to big files on that particular PC? What is the specs(model) and OS of the said computer?

File size or number of files doesnt make a difference in speed.
