Only members of the Malware Response Team or Moderators are allowed to help people with logs. Anyone else should refrain from posting to another user's log.

When posting a log please put the type of infection you have in the topic title. IE: Winfixer, Virtumonde, WinTools, WebSearch, Home Search Assistant, etc.

Do not bump your topic. We try to resolve logs on a first come/first served basis. By bumping your log you will be pushed back in line due to the new date of your bump.

I had a few quick questions for you:
1.) Should I dump my Cobian backup that I made before this cleanup? If may be infected right? Its on an external drive
2.) I have a subscription to Norton AV. Should I dump this? I have heard that MS Security Essentials is so much better. Do you have an opinion?
3.) What is the nature of the infections that I had? Do you think passwords were likely compromised?
4.) Are spybot Search and destroy and adaware worth running or are they now obsolete?

Hello

Thank you it was nice!!

1.yes go ahead and dump it and make a new one

2. how long is the subscription good for - I like MSE at this time and I use it on my computers

3. TDSS <-- link - as with any major infection I would change all online passwords and keep an eye on this for a while

4.adaware yes is getting obsolete spybot is still good but can hamper the cleaning proccess if you do get infected - I like MBAM and is the gold standerd now as antispyware
