Hi

Please run the following:

Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
  • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com)

Note If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

NEXT

  • Please download aswMBR.exe and save it to your desktop.

  • Double click aswMBR.exe to start the tool. (Vista/Windows 7 users - right click to run as administrator)

  • When asked if you want to download Avast's virus definitions please select Yes.

  • Click Scan

    • Upon completion of the scan, click Save log and save it to your desktop, and post that log in your next reply for review. Note - do NOT attempt any Fix yet.

    • You will also notice another file created on the desktop named MBR.dat. Right click that file and select Send To>Compressed (zipped) file. Attach that zipped file in your next reply as well.

Hi. I have been trying to get the exehelper on my computer and have been unable to. Whatever is on my pc is erasing the file as soon as I download it. I have tried renaming it, renaming and zipping it. I also downloaded it to a thumb drive and as I was about to run it the file disappeared from the thumb drive. When I tried to run the pc in safe mode but it keeps blue screening. Any ideas on what I can do to get to run this file? Thanks.

Hi

try this one

  • Please download OTH.scr to your desktop.
  • Now download OTL to your desktop.
  • Double click the OTH file and select Kill All Processes, your desktop will go blank

Then select Start OTL, - OTL will now run:

  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
  • Under Custom scan's and fixes section paste in the below in bold

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    explorer.exe
    winlogon.exe
    Userinit.exe
    svchost.exe
    /md5stop
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.
