Recently, I've added a new computer to my home network for a visiting aunt. In total that makes three desktops, two laptops, two Xboxes and occasionally up to four smart phones connected to the network at any given time. Recently I've noticed that the new computer, one of the other desktops and one of the laptops all seem to have trouble bringing back webpages. During times that his happens not all of the computers are being used and there aren't any downloads going, so I don't believe it's a bandwidth issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What happens when you remove the new computer from the computer?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

The problem with testing is the problem is intermittent, with no discernable patterns that I've seen. I'll remove the computer from the network and see if the problem arises for the other computers.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

No. Often times the problem will arise when no one else is even home and only one computer is active. No peer to peer programs are active on the network.

It sounds to me that your router cannot handle that many devices connected to it, so it drops connections. I would recommend another router such as a Linksys/Cisco.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Even though the computers' network status suggests they're still connected to the network and the Internet browser never gives a no Internet connection message? I did disable the 5 GHz broadcast because it was interefering with the wireless Xbox connections. Would that make any difference?

Did it help with the connectivity? It would eliminate some interference.

The Xbox stays connected now. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't causing any negative side effects. I'm going to head to the store and look into getting a different brand of router soon.

Then that interference caused issues with your X-Box.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I meant turning off the 5.0 GHz broadcast didn't have any negative side effects. I know it caused the Xbox intereference, which is why I disabled it, but I wasn't sure if it was being used for something else.
