It's about a year old, but still 'messy' setup (not near as clean as something like empire craft) because I don't really have the staff to support/improve it the way I would like.

Well if you want to look at the good side of it, the more holes the bad guys find the less holes the goverments have to use.

Minecraft is an amazing game and success story. (One man creating a multi-million dollar game in his bedroom in java.)
I don't play online (just offline) but enjoy the mods SPC, Elemental Arrows, DrZhark's Mo'Creatures, More Creeps and Weirdos and Too Many Items.

you create stuff using things you find in the environment, such as cutting down trees, digging up dirt and rock and finding ore. You make all your own tools etc, and if you choose to play on anything other hten peaceful (which is all I mess with) you have to worry about zombie like creatures trying to get you.

not gametypes, just difficulty levels. . .thats it in essence, you can mine whatever you want build whatever you want wherever you want, you can go online etc. basically create your own world. Its one of those games that on the surface looks cheesy and stupid but once you start playing is really really fun and addictive.
