Really need help.

I've been having trouble with my computer's video card and I removed it and it looks like I've accidentally unplugged a cord. It's a black cord coming from either the disc drive or power button. The end of the cord is a tiny gold circle. There's another cord just like it coming from the power supply. Have I messed something up?
