Microsoft Games Won't Run

I have a new HP Compaq DC 5700 64 bit computer that has Windows 7 as the OS, 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 processor and 3 GB RAM. I can play Chess Titans, but all the other installed games hang when I try to play. I get a message (see attached screenshot). Is there a fix for this?

See if this works
Click the Start button , click Control Panel , click Programs , and then under Programs and Features , click Turn Windows features on or off .
Select the Games check box, and then click OK .
Click the Start button , click Control Panel , click Programs , and then under Programs and Features , click Turn Windows features on or off .
Select the Games check box, and then click OK .
Whether you think you can or can't, either way you are right.
