Hi! i'm a graphic designer and right now i'm working on a project which is important to me. But i noticed that my computer freezes after some time regularly. I was working on PC for a long time but suddenly when i started working in Adobe Illustrator, computer froze. So i restarted it. But the problem continued. Even alt + ctrl + delete won't operate! It hangs for a long time so i had to restart it from CPU button!
I surf a lot. Visit many sites everyday plus download stuff from torrents. I really need help as i have to complete the project as early as possible!
My PC configuration is as follows.
Processor - AMD Athlon X2 3GHz
2GB DDR3, Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit system.
I have ESET Nod 32 antivirus installed and its database is updated regularly!
I need help! Thanks in advance!

I suggest running a disk check. You might have a few damaged sectors on the drive causing the os to freeze.

Here is how..

1. Click the start button > type cmd into the search box.
2. Right click cmd an select Run as Administrator.
3. At the command prompt type chkdsk /r c: > press enter.
4. Confirm the check at boot by pressing Y > reboot the machine.

A detailed log will show in the event viewer once it has completed.

Thanks for reply. As you suggested, i ran the disc check. Now what should i do? is this problem because of virus or anything else?

Open the start menu > type eventvwr.msc > press enter.

Expand the Windows Logs folder > click Application > find the Wininit entry. This is where the check disk log is located.

Using the mouse left click an highlight all the text > press ctrl + c to copy the information.

Paste it into your next reply.

The log shows only minor corrections. To rule out hardware completely let's run a test on the memory.

Download this.. Memtest+.

You'll need to extract the iso file an burn the image. Use ImgBurn.

Once the cd has been created restart the machine an boot from the cd. Allow the test to run for at least 8 hours.

Report back any error's please.
