I was talking to a friend on Facebook last night and she told me that she put down her computer to unplug something, and in the process she stepped on the keyboard of her latop. As a result everything got huge on the screen. Icons and everything. I had her change the icon size by right clicking going into properties on the desktop but that didn't work. I also had her see if the magnifier was on, and apparently it isn't. Anyone got any ideas?

You are going to have to provide more details on the laptop such as make and model and windows version.
My thought in asking for the make and model is to be able to look at the keyboard shortcuts for example.
In windows 7 for example holding down the CTRL key and using the scroll wheel can make icons bigger or smaller. If that is what happened then only desktop items will be affected. The bottom taskbar will still be the same size. I imagine that can be done on most laptops using the touchpad if it has a scroll function on the side of it.
Something else to look at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Keyboard-shortcuts
Not to mention I can not believe the laptop didn't get killed by being stepped on.
Good Luck
Roger
