Hello!

My girlfriends laptop has a very strange problem. She went to bed with it working fine. Woke up, turned it on. Windows 7 loads, but no programs will open. You click an icon, it flashes the thinking circle for a second or two, disappears, and nothing opens. Programs arent listed in CtrlAltDel, its like they never even open.

I tried booting in safe mode, same thing.
I tried booting NOD32, Spybot, Adaware all off of a flashdrive, won't open.

What do I do? I don't have time to reformat before stuff that is on the laptop is due. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Remember : I cannot open files! So unless there is a work around, this is difficult. If files need to be transferred over however, I can do that.

Thanks!

Tom

Can you try to run the following (you can run it from a flashdrive)?

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE
