WOW - and I thought I was being safe before...

So yes, I did read everything you posted, and it was a bunch of information, but I thank you very much for that. I thought I was protected with AVG-free, Ad-Aware, MBAM, and Peerblock! It's a shame you have to do so much just to protect yourself while using your computer to go online. I had Adblock and No-Script already, but I also added Web Of Trust, Optimize Google (shame on you Google, but why doesn't that surprise me?), and I'm keeping TFC. I was going to just stop Firefox from collecting passwords, but I noticed it has all my kids' passwords, so I'm definitely keeping it and just putting a password on it. THANKS FOR THAT ONE! That will go very far in helping me monitor my kids' habits. Remember, I have three boys and two are about to be teens.

I'm going to install WinPatrol, but had a question about Spyware Blaster. I've heard that you can have too many security programs installed on your system. Should I go ahead and install that as well even though I have MBAM and Ad-Aware? If it won't make a problem, I'd rather have more security than less. I have plenty of room for it.

Question 2: Is running scans once a week enough? Should I run them once a week, less often, or more often?

Other than that, I THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your time and help. It's so wonderful to be able to get this level of help without having to pack up my machine and drop it off somewhere! You've definitely given me more help than I imagined I'd get...and more than I imagined I needed! Your instructions were clear and concise, easy to follow, and very informative. I bookmarked the further reading you suggested, and I will definitely read it soon. Also, thanks for making sure to help me get rid of all the programs and leftover logs I don't need.

I'm a single father now, because my wife passed away in 2006, and times have been tough as you can imagine, but I will definitely contribute via paypal later this month when my check comes! We can't do much, but you have been a BIG help and I will do what I can. Believe me, I know that every little bit helps. I've already talked about how great your website is to many of my friends and family. You've made us feel much safer. Thanks again and peace be with you!!!
