Wifi not working after reformat

Hello. Thanks for all you guys do in your spare time.
I recently reformatted my HD with Windows XP.
The wifi worked fine before the reformat.
Was also using XP before reformat.
The wifi switch on side of laptop is on.
The driver seems to be ok.
The hardware is a Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card
The driver is wlluc48.sys

I went to Toshiba's site looking for the driver, but being this is an older cpu, they never offered an XP driver and suggest using the generic XP driver.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

what is the model of the Laptop.

My first Computer had a Whopping 16K of memory @ 0.89MHz
My first hard drive held 20 Megabytes and never got filled up.

Network Device Switch

This application is for selecting one network device on your system and 
preventing inconsistent routing table problems on TCP/IP network.
It can also easy to select the network device which you want to use at
any given time.

After the installation, a small icon will appear in your task tray.
To invoke the application, click the icon as follows:

Left click the tray-icon then following menu will appeared(this is an example) +------------------------------------------+

    | v Intel(R)PRO/100 VE Network Connection  |
    |   Toshiba Wireless LAN MiniPCI Card      |

I also suggest
Toshiba TBIOS Driver for Windows
Toshiba ACPI Common Modules for Windows XP
Toshiba Utilities for Windows

if they were not installed.

Try the Network Device Switch from the Toshiba downloads and see if it helps.
hmmm. wireless driver up to Windows 2000, this must be a fairly old Toshiba.

Well the network switch maybe did the trick even though
1. I had to manually disable all 3 LANs because the switch is only picking up 2
2. I could swear I tried this before manually

As far as an old Toshiba - yes this is a (gasp) pentium III. I was at a sort of crossroads before reformatting this and was considering just droping a couple hundred for a refurb laptop but just decided to use this as long as I can. Its got enough to juice to run hulu anyways.
