BleepingComputer.com: New Laptop

My old Dell Inspiron 1300 is about six years old and I want to replace it.

I only use it for wasting my time, internet shopping and banking, and photos and videos

My printer scanner and router are wirelessly connected.

I have no idea what it's hard drive, memory or processor speed are.

I don't play any games on it

Can anyone advise me what hard drive, memory and processing speed would cover such basic use.

I don't carry the laptop about and as my eyesight's getting worse I wouldn't mind a 17 inch screen

The only other considerations are the keyboard must be able to have a mouse because I can't get the hang of the little pad and button thingies

I don't know if it's relevant but broadband speed here is poor about 2.51 mb/s download, 0.364 upload.

I've tried googling for expert opinion on the net but most of it just confuses me. I've been to some stores today and got the impression that the salesmen soon picked up on my lack of knowledge and were trying to sell me things well beyond what I need.

Can anyone help please?

MSI AE1920-096UK - This is a all-in-one pc and it includes a touch screen but you can always use the mouse and keyboard supplied. It is capable doing those basic tasks.

But you are looking for Laptop not desktop? Right...

The OP doesn't want a laptop because of the touchpad and the screen.
