Did you do a search for the string vmm32.vxd with Sysedit opened up?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Yes, I did. None of the five files that open in Sysedit contained that string on the computer with the problem or on the computer that works properly.

Lets look for some files:

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

64-bit users go HERE
  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Vista\Win 7 users:: Right click on SystemLook.exe, click Run As Administrator
  • Copy the content of the following box into the main textfield:
    :filefind
    vmm32.vxd

  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Not sure if the above works on Windows 98, but it might.

That program doesn't work in Windows 98. I have attached a screenshot showing the results of a search for the file.
