Hello,

I am having a problem with sites such as facebook and youtube. Whenever I go on either one of these websites it does not load up and says "the connection was reset". I have tried to ping these websites and get no resposne. The strange thing is I can access them some other times, usually in the early hours of the morning, but when I do they stop working after 5 minutes. I have this porblem on both IE and Firefox so doubt the browser is the problem. My computer is connected wirelessly to my home network and everyone else seems to have this problem unless they connect manually to the modem/router.

Probably unrelated but possibly relevant, there is no password on the netwrok but we have restricted the network to a few MAC addresses.

Anyways, my question is what could be preventing me from connecting to these websites( and staying longer than 5 minutes) and what is the solution.

Thanks in advance

Can you open Command Prompt, under Accessories, and type Ping Google.com -
Do you get Packets sent = 4 ............ Packets received = 4 ...... and other information ??
If not please note the results and post them back -
Also - Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
•Make sure the following options are checked:
  • Internet Services
  • Windows Firewall
  • System Restore
  • Security Center

•Press "Scan".
•It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
•Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Thank You -
