Turned on PC this morn and Firefox refused to load.
My hard drive clicked/clunked 3-5 times then I received the CrashReporter dialog.
While it was trying to load all other windows and functions would not respond.
I updated, rebooted, scanned drive, defragged and rebooted again. Still not loading.

This is where it gets strange.
All other programs work. It seems to be just browsers functioning incorrectly.

Safari had similar issues.
Chrome clunks and clicks then eventually loads.
IE works first time! I hate IE.

I wondered could it be a firewall conflict? I use zonealarm free.

Please help.

Thanks.

Asus p5b-e plus

Solved!

JAVA.

Did a virus scan and got "SOME FILES COULD NOT BE SCANNED"
The file in question was JAVA. Cycling Redundency Check???

Anyway, I uninstalled and all is now good.
