Sorry to hear that, but the log is looking good :) Nothing to worry about.

Before we clean up the tools we used, I'd like you to update your software:
Important Note: Your version of Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6 and save it to your desktop.
  • Look for "Java Platform, Standard Edition".
  • Click the "Download JRE" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform: "Windows" (32-bit) or "Windows x64" (64-bit).
  • Select your Language: "Multi-language".
  • Read the License Agreement, and then check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE...License Agreement".
  • Click Continue and the page will refresh.
  • Under Required Files, check the box for Windows Offline Installation, click the link below it and save the file to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.

Go to Posted Image > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features in Vista/Windows 7 and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button and follow the onscreen instructions for the Java uninstaller.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u30-windows-i586.exe (or jre-6u30-windows-x64.exe for 64-bit) to install the newest version.
  • If using Windows 7 or Vista and the installer refuses to launch due to insufficient user permissions, then Run As Administrator.
  • When the Java Setup - Welcome window opens, click the Install > button.
  • If offered to install a Toolbar, just uncheck the box before continuing unless you want it.
  • The McAfee Security Scan Plus tool is installed by default unless you uncheck the McAfee installation box when updating Java.

-- Java is updated frequently. If you want to be automatically notified of future updates, just turn on the Java Automatic Update feature and you will not have to remember to update when Java releases a new version.

Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications but it's not necessary.
To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it:
  • Go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter.
  • Click Ok and reboot your computer.

Your version of Adobe Reader is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Adobe components and update:
  • Download the latest version of Adobe Reader Version X. and save it to your desktop.
  • Uncheck the "Free McAfee Security plan Plus" option or any other Toolbar you are offered
  • Click the download button at the bottom.
  • If you use Internet Explorer and do not wish to install the ActiveX element, simply click on the click here to download link on the next page.
  • Remove all older version of Adobe Reader: Go to Add/remove and uninstall all versions of Adobe Reader, Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat.
If you are unsure of how to use Add or Remove Programs, the please see this tutorial:How To Remove An Installed Program From Your Computer
  • Then from your desktop double-click on Adobe Reader to install the newest version.
If using Windows Vista and the installer refuses to launch due to insufficient user permissions, then Run As Administrator.
  • When the "Adobe Setup - Welcome" window opens, click the Install > button.
  • If offered to install a Toolbar, just uncheck the box before continuing unless you want it.
Your Adobe Reader is now up to date!

Hi,

great! All that's left to do is to remove the tools we used then:

Please do the following to clean up your PC:
  • Delete the tools used during the disinfection:
  • Uninstall ComboFix.exe And all Backups of the files it deleted
    • Click START then RUN
    • Now type Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
      Posted Image

    • Download OTC from the following mirror and save it to your desktop:
    • Double click on Posted Image
    • Push the large "Cleanup" button.
    • Allow your system to reboot.

  • If OTC faild to remove all programs from your Desktop, please delete the rest manually.
Please read these advices, in order to prevent reinfecting your PC:
  • Install and update the following programs regularly:
    • an outbound firewall
A comprehensive tutorial and a list of possible firewalls can be found here.
    • an AntiVirus Software
It is imperative that you update your AntiVirus Software on regular basis. If you do not update your AntiVirus Software then it will not be able to catch the latest threats.
    • an Anti-Spyware program
Malware Byte's Anti Malware is an excellent Anti-Spyware scanner. It's scan times are usually under ten minutes, and has excellent detection and removal rates.
SUPERAntiSpyware is another good scanner with high detection and removal rates.
Both programs are free for non commercial home use but provide a resident and do not nag if you purchase the paid versions.
    • Spyware Blaster
A tutorial for Spywareblaster can be found here. If you wish, the commercial version provides automatic updating.
    • MVPs hosts file
A tutorial for MVPs hosts file can be found here. If you would like automatic updates you might want to take a look at HostMan host file manager. For more information on thehosts file, and what it can do for you, please consult the Tutorial on the Hosts file

  • Keep Windows (and your other Microsoft software) up to date!
I cannot stress how important this is enough. Often holes are found in Internet Explorer or Windows itself that require patching. Sometimes these holeswill allow an attacker unrestricted access to your computer.
Therefore, please, visit the Microsoft Update Website and follow the on screen instructions to setup Microsoft Update. Also follow the instructions to update your system. Please REBOOT and repeat this process until there are no more updates to install!!
  • Keep your other software up to date as well
Software does not need to be made by Microsoft to be insecure. You can use the Secunia Online Software occasionally to help you check for out of date software on yourmachine.
  • Stay up to date!
The MOST IMPORTANT part of any security setup is keeping the software up to date. Malware writers release new variantsevery single day. If your software updates don't keep up, then the malware will always be one step ahead. Not a good thing :(.

Hi,

yes, these files found are no threat to you.
This:

Quote

C:\Documents and Settings\beesfree\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\41\3d3fb229-61842a09 multiple threats (unable to clean) 00000000000000000000000000000000 I

This is a temporary file, a file once downloaded executed and then basically "forgotten". If you still want to remove this, you can clear out the java cache:
1. Run Chkdsk
Running chkdsk may take some time to complete. Please be patient and do not use the computer, press any keys, or try to stop the chkdsk scan once it has started.
  • Right-click the Start button and select Explore
  • Navigate to your C: Drive, then right-click the drive and select Properties
  • In the Properties window that pops-up, click the Tools tab and then click on the button that says Check Now
  • If the User Account Control window pops-up asking for permission to run Check Disk, please click on Continue
  • In the Check Disk Options window that pops-up, place a check-mark in both boxes:
    • Automatically fix file system errors
    • Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors

  • Now click on Start.
  • A new window will pop-up saying, Windows can't check the disk while it's in use, click schedule disk check
  • Now shut-down your computer, not restart, and then turn on your computer.
  • When your computer turns on, you will see a blcak screen with white lettering, this is chkdsk running.
  • Let chkdsk run through its 5 Stages. When it is finished, your computer will boot to the desktop.
2. Chkdsk Log
  • Click on Start, then Run.
  • Copy and paste the following bold text in to the Open: box:
      eventvwr.msc /s

  • This will bring up the Event Viewer window
  • In the left panel click on Application
  • The chkdsk log should be the first entry, with a source of Wininit. If it is not the first log:
    • Click on View, and then on Newest First
    • This should place the chkdsk log at the top of the list.

  • Click on the entry once
  • Now right-click on the entry and choose Properties.
  • In the window that pops-up, click on Posted Image (this will copy the log).
  • Paste the log in a Reply to this topic.

C:\Documents and Settings\beesfree\My Documents\Downloads\IWON.exe Win32/AdInstaller application (unable to clean)

This is an installer from iwon. It hasn't been used. As long as you don't choose to execute it, it won't do anything. Should you choose to execute and install it, it will display advertisements, as stated in their license. (and possibly also install a toolbar on your PC)

Both files are not doing "anything" by themselves. You would need to execute them and evne then they will do little harm. (They will be annoying, but they will not invite further malware on your PC or read out your passwords or similar)

Thank you very much Myrti. I've cleaned the desktop, and will also work on removing the Java cache. Everything has been extremely helpful. And I will be reading through all those links you provided so that I can prevent infection.
