When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

If you have not received help after three days, please post a link to your topic HERE.

Ok, when I restarted it, got to the desktop I found that there are no icons on it, his desktop had a lot of them and ALL of the C drive has had the hidden attribute set. That makes "All Programs" on the start menu empty.
I have unhidden the programs folder and everything within, but all that got me was a All Programs menu with all the folders but nothing in them. I would guess that that is the problem with the desk top icons as well, hidden. I'll undo that also but nothing else till I hear from you.

IE is working MUCH faster and goes to all the right pages.
No more redirects and it stays connected every time I open it.

Good news :)
What about Firefox?

Well I guess that was premature LOL I just went back to it, after i saw your post, to see how it was doing. Opened firefox, headed to bleeping... as soon as the page loaded I started to get dialog boxes with "noooo" on them. Gotta love a malware programer with a sense of humor. Anywho, no internet again, couldn't even get google up on FF or IE...

Download aswMBR to your desktop.
Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it.
If you see this question: Would you like to download latest Avast! virus definitions?" say "Yes".
Click the "Scan" button to start scan.
On completion of the scan click "Save log", save it to your desktop and post in your next reply.

NOTE. aswMBR will create MBR.dat file on your desktop. This is a copy of your MBR. Do NOT delete it.

I think you'll need more advanced help.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
