Every time I try to load a file on Windows Media Player, it takes a very long time (4 to 5 mins) in starting to play it.

Where can I look to speed this loading up?

Tanks for the help

What type of file, movie, music or streaming videos? Try free VLC instead. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Thank you, JHAYZ. It happens with streaming videos from e-mails I receive.
I´m downloading the VLC, I´ll see if that helps.

I´ll reply later with the outcome, thanks again.

Personally, I have not encountered or experience receiving videos via email...?

I´m referring to attachments that come with the extension .wmv. That, opens Windows Media Player. Sorry for the confusion.

Would the VLC help to speed up the loading. I´m still experiencieng a long time loading when the .wmv starts after I click on it.

Hope you understand my poor english writing.

VLC has many playback video support and WMV is one of them http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html . I usually use it for stored videos and not for streaming online. It might be a network connection issue instead of a media player feature.
