Hi, everyone, I just wanted to take a minute to post a sincere thank you to whomever it was that provided the information on how to remove the Win 7 Security 2012 virus. Oh, man, I got hit with it last night and was terrified that I'd ruined my pc! I'm glad I have too suspicious a nature to have clicked on that thing and "registered" my credit card, but when I couldn't open IE, Firefox or any other other application and couldn't even get system restore to work, I hit the laptop, did a search and found your website. I followed every one of your steps (although step one...FixNCR.reg...did not work for me, only opened a notepad file) and ended up running RKILL as admin to get it to work (because, since the first step did not work, my exe files still weren't working) and kill the virus. Then I dl'd Malwarebytes and it removed the remnants and everything is running great today!

So, thanks for taking the time to make this removal guide available. Without it, I don't know what exactly I would have done!:)

Merry Christmas!!!

Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Merry Christmas, and thank you for taking the time to let us know you were successful with our information. Words such as yours are what keep us positive in knowing we make a difference.
