BleepingComputer.com: Laptop Restarting, No Video

I've got an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop with Windows Vista. The person that was using it said he was just on ebay browsing, and then the video went all garbled, and then it shut down. After that, upon trying to restart, nothing shows up on the screen and and the computer restarts itself after 20 seconds or so.
Things I've tried:
Switching to external monitor with FnF4- still nothing shows up on external monitor eiher. I'm thinking bad video card, but would a bad vid card make it reboot loop?
There are no flash drives or memory cards or optical discs in the laptop. All of the indicator lights come on when it's restarted, but then it restarts again after 20 seconds or so.
Any help is much appreciated.

There are little things you could check as in a RAM module might have been damage or networkd card. Removing one would see if it makes the same behavior.

The dv6000 series when equipped with an AMD CPU and Nvidia Video has problems due to defective Nvidia video chips that fail over time. The computers with these will have stickers on them indicating them. There is no video card as the video is built-in on the motherboard.

The ones with Intel CPU and Video were more reliable.

The cure is a expensive motherboard replacement. Steer clear of used. The true model of the computer is on the bottom label. An example would be dv6130US.

The other cure is to find a repair shop that has the equipment to do a proper reball on the video chip. Note I said reball not reflow. Reflows do not seem to hold up.

As jhayz said you could get lucky and have it be a bad memory chip. I did see that also.
