I am sure this has been answered and for double posting I am sorry. I am on a friends laptop and surfing for answers has been hard.
I am trying to follow the instructions for the xp antivirus removal. I downloaded the fixncr onto my flash drive, opened it on my infected computer, it said are you sure you want to add the information to the registry, i said yes. After about 1 second it saysit was successfully added.

So then I tried to open IE so I could come to the instructions and run the rkill, but I can't open IE. It will let me open my homepage but when I try to come to ANY internet page it says threat detected and I can't continue.

I am sure I missed a step but I cant find it. Thanks for any help.

I tried saving to my flash drive directly this time and still no luck. It feels like I am missing a step or something.
